I voted for George Bush. Isn't it odd that many people are ashamed of that fact these days? Just as with Clinton, who won by a landslide in Arkansas, his home state, but later you couldn't find a single soul in Arkansas that would admit it. Well, I am a brave and honest soul and I voted for him.
For the most part, I have not been embarrassed about this fact. Even though I do not nor have I ever believed the crap that his administration and the media have tried to feed us as a result of the war in Iraq. The majority of Americans now seem to be of the opinion that we need to start pulling out. Many of those, like myself, did not think we should have been involved in that war from the beginning. However, there is a big difference between myself and most of those people. THEY have bought one thing that we have been brainwashed into accepting that I have never believed. Even our young people, over the last several generations, with every war, has used this false belief as a sort of calling card. That calling card is: 'I Am Fighting For My Country'. Bull-hockey!!!
Okay, with the Vietnam WAR - it was not a conflict then it is not a conflict now - we were attacked! With this war? Not hardly. That country did not attack us. Religious cultists attacked us.
Yes, it is true that the car bombings, suicide bombings and genocides that have been practiced in that part of the world would have happened here eventually, as part of their hate for the American liberties. But, do you honestly believe that this war will do anything to prevent that? If you do, I would like you to email me with your reasons for believing that we are accomplishing anything in Iraq that will in any way benefit our future security. My email for that is: info@inspiredwordart.com.
So then, what are we fighting over there for?
Who are we fighting for?

IRAQ-- In a town near Mosul, seventeen year old Du'a Khalil Aswad was murdered. Aswad died after being stoned to death when male family members claimed she had shamed the family. The men in her family and hard core religious leaders pulled the teenager out of a house and into the street. With a crowd watching, several men hurled rocks and stones at the unprotected girl for thirty minutes before she finally died. Reports from Iraq indicate security personnel were in the crowd, and failed to make efforts to stop the attack.
For this, for these kinds of people, this is what our babies, our sisters/brothers, nieces/nephews, our friends and our future is dying and being traumatized for. People that do not even care enough about their own children to consider humanity and generosity in their actions.
