There are actually two things that are pissing me off this time. Let’s go with the Anna Nicole Smith issue. Okay, artists, writers, humanitarians and saints are not normally recognized until they are long dead. But if you are a mother with loose morals and you allow your child to load up on drugs as an escape for his lack of a real life and you die, you get immediate fame.
Personally, I think if I hear her name on the news one more time I will scream! As a matter of fact I did yell at the television this weekend. The woman worked hard for her death, let her lie.
Then there is the Paris Hilton deal. I have heard over and over and over, about how all these famous people, and even some not famous people think that she deserves some leniency. FOR WHAT! What has she ever done to deserve leniency?
Let me tell you a little story. I will start by telling you that this is my personal experience. I do not drink nor do I use drugs, well unless you consider caffeine and nicotine. I made our living when my children were growing up by driving a truck. I have an excellent driving record. In fourteen years, I got three speeding tickets, one of which I did not earn.
I realize that there are those that go their entire lives without ever getting a traffic ticket, but those people do not cover and average of a thousand miles a day.
When my son was approaching his 16th birthday, I helped him buy the car of his choice. It had to be rebuilt and we knew that when we purchased it. I taught my boy, at my kitchen table, as I made dinner, to rebuild a carburetor and we barbecued while we tore down the transmission and replaced rings. An interesting bonding experience for a mother and son.
Two weeks before his birthday, I came home to find him running toward my truck all excited. He had, on his own, finished the carburetor and was so proud of himself. I was proud as well. I arranged for his insurance while I was on the road that week. The following week, on Friday he went to get his drivers license.
I came home and we went over the car carefully for safety. When I left on Sunday, I left him an envelope saying, “Son, give this to your sister and she will pay your insurance on her way to work tomorrow. Tell your boss that you need to get off work early on Thursday. When you get your check and your sister will take you to get your tags.”
Oh stupid me. My children have always been relatively trustworthy and they did not lie to me. When I came home unexpectedly on that Wednesday to find that my son and his car were gone I was stunned.
To make an already long story short, when he got his tags, without insurance, the lady at the desk told him that I had to sign the title as well. He went out and signed my name, came back in and got his tags on Monday. That Wednesday night he had a wreck.
I supported my family for 14 years with my drivers license, I had a clean record, but the ordeal that I went through because of that wreck took my license! IT TOOK SEVEN YEARS TO GET IT BACK!
Now tell me, who deserves leniency? A rich, spoiled idiot that does nothing for anyone else? Or, a single mother trying to support her family?
Want to know how we made it through that winter, with me not being able to work? I chopped wood, each and every day while my son took my pickup after school and went around delivering and selling it.

It isn't her ed. you really can't expect anything better from the poor misguided idiot but the people that are defending her are the ones that piss me off. I mean damn, when did we all start feeling so pitiful for these poor misunderstood and struggling silver spoons?

rightwingwizard said on May 14, 2007.... delete block user Perhaps the reason for their defending her is that they understand that one day in the not to distant future they (or one of their poorly raised, coddled and self involved offspring) may be in a similar situation demanding leniency for their misdeeds. They are used to buying their way out of trouble, and when that option is not available a great 'injustice' has been perpetrated against them. Just a thought.Mom and Pop Average don't have that option to begin with, so we tend to accept the penalty without a great deal of fuss.rww -

A role model? That is just inconceivable!!!! Are the icons and their followers today really that ignorant? It is not a concept I have ever understood. But then again my role models were - I can't think of any. Well Dale Carnegie perhaps.

I will go along with what rightwingwizard, (what an interesting id) said though.
Ed, someone wanted me to let them know when I posted my story about the mountain. Do you remember who it was? I think it was bloc or bronx. I was in one of the meth blogs.

Well the world nowadays are infested with injustice. Some people say, just live it while others are struggling to put what is right into its correct place.

By the way, how is your life now?

jayjaybaqiu; It is pretty good for the most part. I have not actually gotten my license back because I didn't want to endanger anyone after I began having seizures last October. But I have started an online marketing business and am about to launch another one.

I have earned some recognition as a writer and have done a lot of ghost writing lately. I also have two contracts pending to write autobiographies. I was asked about a month ago to volunteer as an expert in starting small businesses. Things are looking up in many ways. If I can just keep things going for another couple of weeks I will be doing fine.
The problem is that I have had some issues lately with my hubby that I did not expect. I had invested what money I had before all this started and now I am in the position that if I don't figure something out - and quick- I am in big trouble. I will lose my internet service and everything next week.
But I am a tough old bird and I will make it through.

It seems that your life, to me is blesses with good things. Me, I'm just a starter looking for side income through the net, you like earning $400 a month.

Let me know what kind of ghost stories do you write. Actually I'm surprised you're doing this kind of stuff.
Anyway, we'll pray for you. Be tough.

Thank you jayjay. I have three historical novels, one is finished and with the editor, one is ready for final proof and the other is pretty close to being finished. I am also working on one of my own. It is the story of my father and his twin. They ran away from home at the age of 13 by hopping a train. There are many mishaps along the way and then they meet the railroad detective. This all takes place during the heart of the Depression.

They are eventually found, almost starving and in terrible trouble, my Uncle all but blinded. The minister that finds them and places them at the local YMCA goes home one night and tells his wife about the boys. She goes to get them and move them to their home. Gaining their trust, she learns enough about them to contact my grandfather. He hops his own train, using a purchased ticket. When he gets to Chicago, he purchases a wagon and four mules before going to see his sons.
He follows the twins, in the wagon, as they walk every step of the way back to Tupelo, Mississippi.
The last ghost written work I completed was an eBook on starting an Internet Business. My guidelines were very detailed, as is the book. It covers everything from the formation of your idea to actually opening for business and developing a list of prospective customers.
I was very impressed with the gentleman that commissioned the book. I have been exposed to many of these types of products and have always been disappointed. Not with this one. I actually learned a lot writing this.
Why are you surprised that I am doing this type of work? I am very intelligent. I have not had any formal education, however I have worked for a law firm as well as being employed as a junior chemist for a waste management and emergency response first responder. (One of my driving jobs.) When those trains derailed, those tankers rolled over on the highway or a chemical plant had an accident, I was the truck driver that came and cleaned up the mess. I also trained many fire departments and police personnel.
